The Ravishankar Collective, a vibrant ensemble of Delhi-based artists, is renowned for its innovative blend of original music. Since its formation, the collective has become a dynamic force in the music scene, merging a diverse array of genres including Indian Classical (Hindustani and Carnatic), Electronica, Folk, Rock, Jazz, and an assortment of unclassifiable sonic adventures.
Their debut album, "ATMA BOMB," released in 2020, marked a bold introduction to their unique sound. The band continues to captivate audiences with their live performances and is eagerly anticipated for their upcoming second studio album, "INSTARAAGAM," scheduled for release in 2025.
Meet the Collective
Ravishankar – The heart of the collective, Ravishankar, serves as the primary vocalist, guitarist, and percussionist. An award-winning singer-songwriter, voice-over artist, multi-instrumentalist, and audio designer, Ravishankar brings over 18 years of experience in music and digital media. His accolades include multiple New York Festivals Awards, Acef, Golden Mikes, and Era awards. He is trained in Hindustani Classical music at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya, Delhi, under the esteemed Dr. Arindam Mukhopadhyay and Pt. Madhup Mudgal.
Dhruv Bedi – A distinguished sitarist, Dhruv Bedi is celebrated for his "gayaki ang" style from the Imdadkhani gharana, which complements Ravishankar’s vocals beautifully. A graded artist of All India Radio and recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar and the National Scholarship, Dhruv has been trained by his father, Shri Jagdip Singh Bedi, and the renowned Pt. Budhaditya Mukherjee.
Shivansh Shekhar – As the electric guitarist, Shivansh Shekhar is known for his exploration of genres from Jazz to Nu Metal. His experimental approach has resulted in unique soundscapes that blend influences from nujabes and Flying Lotus. With a lofi-hiphop project boasting a quarter of a million plays on SoundCloud, Shivansh’s innovative style is a cornerstone of the collective’s sound. He has completed graded examinations from Rockschool and Trinity College London.
Gurbhej Singh – On tabla, padhanth, and percussion, Gurbhej Singh's musical journey began with Pt. Sita Ram ji and later flourished under Ustad Faiyaz Khan and Ustad Shamim Ahmed Khan. With an M.Phil in music from Delhi University, Gurbhej has performed extensively both nationally and internationally. His accolades include awards from the National Youth Festival and Punjabi Sangeet Academy.
Ravinder Rajput – A versatile flautist and percussionist, Ravinder Rajput's musical education started at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya under Guru Kailash Sharma. His performances span prestigious venues such as the River Festival of Maheshwar and Vienna, Austria. Ravinder is also an accomplished tabla artist and a former faculty member at Gandharva Mahavidyalaya.
Raghav Khullar – Raghav Khullar is a skilled drummer who brings extensive experience across genres including Jazz, Funk, R&B, Blues, Pop, Rock, and Indian Classical. Trained under Mr. Manoj Mavely and with graded examinations from Trinity College London, Raghav's stage presence and versatility add depth to the collective’s rhythm section.
Sohom Sarkar – A pianist and music producer with over 14 years of professional experience, Sohom Sarkar specializes in advanced music production and jazz. His training includes studies under Mr. John Raphael, Mr. Anindaya Chatterjee, and Mr. Rythem Bansal. Sohom has completed Trinity grade 8 with merit and is known for his innovative approach to keyboards and electronica.
Rahul Khanna – A seasoned bass player, Rahul Khanna brings over 12 years of experience to the collective. His career includes performances and recordings with Bollywood and Coke Studio artists. Rahul is a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, and composer with a rich background in various music genres.
